Volunteer Information
We welcome you to volunteer with us in serving poor and underserved people of the Volta Region! We host groups throughout the year and we're certain that we will be able to provide you with an amazing volunteer experience.
To volunteer with Life For The Living Humanitarian Centre, a non-governmental organization based in Ho, Ghana, a number of logistical issues must be considered, including cost, volunteering with a partner, accommodation, language, application, VISA, and other requirements. The following sections will provide you with the information you need to volunteer with us.

Cost
The cost of volunteering shall be negotiated with the interested Volunteer. This cost includes housing, two meals a day, pick up/return from the airport in Accra, and at least one sightseeing opportunity in the Volta Region (2-3 days) including food, transport and accommodation. Volunteers are responsible for excursion entrance fee, airfare, vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis, travel/evacuation insurance, VISA costs, and other local transportation.

Volunteer Groups
You are welcome to volunteer individually, with a partner, or with a larger group. If you are coordinated for a group, please contact us at least 9 months in advance of the dates that your are planning on coming. The minimum duration of volunteering is two weeks. Upon completion of the volunteer service, volunteers are awarded a special certificate for volunteering with Life for the Living Humanitarian Centre.
Accommodation
Volunteers will be provided with their own room that can be locked. You may be asked to share a room with one other volunteer. The house will have running water, modern toilet facilities, and electricity.
Language
English is Ghana’s national language. Not everyone will speak English, however. In the Volta Region of Ghana, where Ho is located, people speak Ewe. You are encouraged to learn greetings and phrases in Ewe during your stay, but Ewe proficiency is not necessary to volunteer in this region.
